Resilience through AgTech Support

Innovation and technology offer significant potential to enhance drought preparedness and build social, economic, and environmental resilience in agriculture. However, despite the growing access to AgTech solutions, adoption remains challenging for many farmers, producers, and land managers.

The Innovation Pipeline - supporting producers through their AgTech Journey

Barriers to the uptake of technology include uncertainty about which technologies are ready and appropriate for their business, a lack of independent advice, limited extension and adoption support, and confidence in applying technology meaningfully within their operations. These challenges are compounded by the vast array of AgTech options available.

The TNQ Drought Hub is actively addressing these barriers through an ‘innovation pipeline’ process that includes a suite of integrated programs and activities designed to support producers at every stage of their AgTech adoption journey.

From initial scoping and informed decision-making to testing and successful implementation, this approach helps build the capacity and confidence farmers need for long-term resilience, profitability, and preparedness beyond drought ensuring a lasting impact.

To further support this journey, the hub also sponsors producers to attend leading agricultural and innovation events such as EvokeAg and Developing Northern Australia where they can engage with cutting-edge technologies, hear from global thought leaders, and connect with other forward-thinking producers.  These experiences expand producers’ horizons, spark new ideas, and strengthen their networks, all key ingredients for long-term resilience.
