Up to date, curated and independently assessed catalogue of AgTech solutions
Aim
To provide producers and extension professionals with an up-to-date, independently assessed catalogue of agtech solutions relevant to on-farm problems.
Background
Innovation and technology can contribute to social, environmental and economic resilience, but adoption by farmers is hindered by a lack of independent advice on the suitability of the large range of AgTech options, and a lack of clarity if the technologies are under development or ready to implement.
Why this Matters
This activity forms part of the interlinked TNQ Drought Hub activities to create a seamless flow, from assessing producer innovation readiness, to identifying emerging solutions, to enabling adoption on the ground. This market intelligence capability positions Tropical North Queensland as a national leader in innovation-led agriculture, attracting investment, accelerating partnerships, and building resilience across farming systems.
What We Are Doing
The TNQ Drought Hub will utilise the MediaRoom platform to automate scanning, assessing and cataloguing global agtech solutions. These insights will be fed into AgValuate and guide targeted extension support.
Our Knowledge Adoption Officer will facilitate the development of MediaRoom platform, working with regional stakeholders (NRM bodies, government agencies, producer groups) to ensure the platform meets local needs. A review will be conducted to assess the alignment of the platform to ensure it is meeting current industry trends and requirements.
The platform will be introduced to producers and extension professionals through workshops and other engagement opportunities to ensure effective use while gathering feedback for continuous refinement.
If you have any questions about the catalogue, contact TNQ Drought Hub Knowledge Adoption Officer, Carrie-Ann Wilson, carrie.wilson1@jcu.edu.au
