North Queensland’s vibrant agricultural sector took centre stage at the GrownInNQ Innovation Expo 2024 on 31 October – 1 November, where producers, agribusinesses, and industry leaders gathered to highlight the region’s innovation, resilience, and unique contributions to Australia’s food and fibre production.
The Expo showcased region’s distinctive value propositions and collaborative strengths in tackling industry challenges. Attendees delved into insightful presentations, explored product showcases, and engaged in discussions about key industry topics such as market access, consumer trends, and digital solutions. These conversations emphasised the importance of embracing technology to build sustainable and resilient farming practices.
Kara Glenn-Worth, Digital Agriculture Innovation Consultant for the TNQ Drought Hub, presented on the Hub’s initiatives, including AgValuate—a tool designed to assist farmers and land managers in assessing their innovation readiness through tailored evaluations.
“AgValuate helps producers understand their current position on the innovation spectrum and empowers them to enhance productivity and resilience in the face of evolving agricultural challenges,” Kara explained.
The Expo provided the opportunity for valuable networking opportunities, enabling participants to form partnerships and explore avenues for growth, diversification, and sustainability.
