TNQ Drought Hub Internal Team Forum fosters relationships and collaborations

Last week the TNQ Drought Hub team met for our third team forum across two days in Mackay. With the team being spread across Queensland, it’s not often the chance arises for everyone be together. Events like these are important for building a strong team culture that fosters relationships and collaboration.

The two days were spent discussing achievements and activities to date, the opportunities and challenges that occur when working with such a large team from multiple organisations, and most importantly, the teams vision for the future of the hub. Guests included representatives from Climate Services for Agriculture Program, Drought and Climate Adaptation Program and Central Queensland University who were asked to participate and share their knowledge.

The highlights included

  • Hearing from the TNQ Drought Hub scholarship recipients, who continue to drive innovation and research in drought resilience across numerous topics including bush foods enterprises and business opportunities, drone surveying, rainfall-runoff processes, social identity on water conversation behaviour
  • visiting the Bradford family farm where Jason spoke about what he’s doing to improve the farms long-term viability including mobile watering points, reducing grazing pressures and wetland restoration.

The hub is privileged to have a wide range of staff, NRM’s partners and supporters who combined, make up the TNQ Drought Hub and bring together significant and expert knowledge and relentless passion for the agriculture sector.
