SUMMARY:PESTS\, PARTNERSHIPS & PEOPLE POWER
DESCRIPTION:The Pest Animal and Weed Symposium 2023 (PAWS 2023) presented by Invasive Species Queensland and hosted by Western Downs Regional Council\, will be held on 28-31 August 2023 at the Dalby Event Centre. \nPAWS 2019 seems like a lifetime ago\, due to the pandemic induced break. It’s high time to join forces\, share our superpowers and get back in the saddle again. The ideas\, innovation and technological advancements of the past 4 years are surging\, and we can’t wait to share it all with you! \nPests\, Partnerships & People Power is the 2023 symposium theme\, with a focus on practical solutions\, ideas and innovations for pest animal and weed management. We can have a greater impact on pest animals and weeds when we collaborate with People Power to ensure effective solutions are implemented. \nThe Dalby Event Centre offers ample space for outdoor or practical demonstrations\, which is a fantastic opportunity to showcase effective solutions for managing pest animals and weeds. This will be especially helpful for attendees who prefer to learn through hands-on experiences. Our aim is to utilise the resources and land space to create a symposium with a difference\, focusing on practical solutions\, on-ground applications and collaboration at all levels. \nField trips are a crowd favourite and allow attendees to see firsthand the successful management strategies and technologies in action\, that impact the environment\, economy\, community and lifestyle of the Western Downs.
