Springsure Meat and Dairy Goat Show

The first Open Meat Goat Show in Australia. Speakers, junior judges, and trade exhibits will be scheduled for Friday as dairy goat showing will be happening this day in another arena the Meat Goat judging will be held on Saturday. 8.00 am – 9.00 am Beef Breeding Services Jane Smith

Beef Breeding Services

Jane Armstrong from Beef Breeding Services,  will be presenting on male fertility tools and technologies that can help you improve your herd.

BBS is a diverse artificial breeding hub, assisting stud, commercial, and special interest breeders achieve exceptional benchmarks.

BBS is no longer just Beef, we have assembled a team of expansive Reproduction Technicians specializing in Bovine, caprine, ovine, equine, and canine, utilizing the gold standards in reproductive technologies

Sheffy will be bringing a set of Tru-Test  Scales to the show and will be able to demonstrate their use.  He will be available to answer questions on the range of Tru-Test Scale Equipment, Speedrite Electric Fencing and the use of the Z Tag ear tag range in goat production systems.
10.00 am – 11.00 am Goat Production Systems Dr Louw Hoffman


Dr Louw Hoffman will be bringing his wealth of knowledge to the subject of kid survivability across different types of goat production systems.  He will also  discuss basic goat management, mating season, record keeping & welfare
11.00 am – 12.00 pm Vaccinations Leon Buchanan


Leon will be on hand to answer any questions producers may have about the vaccines provided by Zoetis.  He will be able to discuss programs, vaccine choice, timing, storage and administration of vaccines.
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm  Nutrition – goat supplements Simon Quigley


Simon will be presenting on Goat nutrition and supplements for meat goat farming operations.
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm Parasites – External and Internal Saba Sinia


Saba will be discussing both external and internal parasites of goats.  What they are, signs and symptoms  and management.
2.00 pm – 3.00 pm Paraboss Kylie Leahy

Mount Roy Stud

 Kylie will take you through the tools available on the paraboss and wormboss website.     She will have a practical demonstration of a worm egg count.
3.00 pm – 4.00 pm Offsider Ag David Hicks

Offsider Ag

David Hicks from Offsider Ag will be on hand to present and discuss  his goat handling system and how it can work for your operation.



4.00 pm – 5.00 pm Soils and plant succession Bloss Hickson

Huntly Trust

Bloss Hickson will be presenting on the importance of soils and plant succession to your goat enterprise.
8.00 am – 9.00 am Udders Kate Thompson

Dairy Goat Aus

Before she heads off, Kate, one of the dairy goat stewards will be in the tent to discuss udder problems, solutions and care.

Anita will be on hand to discuss going into goat farming – from both a  stud and commercial perspective.

Dr Louw’s first presentation of the day will be around breeding of goats, buying stud animals, breeding values, genetics, etc
11.00 am – 12.00 pm Kidplan Fleur Tarlington

TerraMac Boer Stud

Fleur has been using Kidplan for a number of years with her stud boer goats.  She will be on hand to answer any questions a producer may have on the advantages of being involved with KIDPLAN.  She will be able to discuss the advantages of using Breeding Values to make the best decisions for your herd.
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm Paraboss Kylie Leahy Mount Roy Stud

1.00 pm – 2.00 pm Goat Meat – Quality and Type Dr Louw Hoffman UQ


Dr Louw Hoffman will be presenting on what influences goat meat quality.  He will be discussing various influential factors including:   ages, sex/castrates, stress & market
2.00 pm – 3.00 pm AuctionsPlus Auctionsplus Rep Marketing  – Ask someone who knows about how to best market your goats!
