Invasive ant workshop

November 29, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

This event is to train staff from councils, harbours, ports, marinas and other key organisations about Queensland’s most invasive ants

The workshop is organised by Reef Catchments, funded through the Australian Government’s Reef Trust. We are lucky enough to have experts from DAF to lead the following:

  • Overview of the high priority invasive species for Queensland and key identifying features. We have samples of the ants (dead) and you will get to practice IDing these species.
  • Impacts of these species (socio-economic, environmental)
  • How to sample an ant and where to send it for ID
