Grazing for Soil Health

September 10, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Healthy soils support nutritious grass for better grazing. Learn how to manage soil health at this free event.

About this event

Soil health is a big part of your grazing business foundation. Keeping your soils healthy is a great start for a profitable and productive business.

Join us for a free event facilitated by pasture ecologist Judi Earl from AIMS (Agricultural Information and Monitoring Services) to learn about the basics of soil health on different land types, and how to manage your soil health. Participants will also receive a map with land types for their individual property, which can help inform your land management strategies.

Topics will include:

  • Basics of soil analysis and interpretation by looking at your soil and land types
  • Practical strategies for improving soil health
  • Pasture species diversity and practices to encourage soil biology diversity, maintaining living roots with 3P species

Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. For more information, contact Taylor on taylor.smith@gulfsavannahnrm.org or 0477 415 031.
